Team USA Retains Junior Solheim Cup with Nail-Biting 13-11 Win Over Europe

Team USA successfully defended the Junior Solheim Cup after holding off a dramatic European comeback, winning 13-11 at Bernardus Golf in the Netherlands. Leading by seven points after the opening day, Morgan Pressel's side needed only 2.5 points from the 12 singles matches to retain the trophy, or three points for an outright victory. Sofia Maier-Borst and Axelle Guillemard defeated Amelie Zalsman and Honorine Ferry respectively, reviving Europe's hopes. Carlota Lopez Minguela added another point by beating Irish Lee 3&2. Marta Munoz birdied the penultimate hole to halve with Anna Fang, and Alice Kong snatched a final-hole win over Lily Peng. But in that tense situation, Kelly Zhang stayed remarkably calm. She beat Carolina Perez-Tasso 2 up to deliver the decisive point and secure the trophy for the USA. The match ended with a 13-11 overall victory. Notably, Europe won 8.5 of the 12 singles points on the final day, but the seven-point deficit from day one was too much to overcome. This is the second consecutive Junior Solheim Cup title for the USA, and it also serves as a strong warm-up ahead of the professional women's Solheim Cup, which will be held at the same venue later this week.
